Take one apartment block in Melbourne eight twenty-somethings add some love friendship and vodka shots and you've got the dynamic and addictive Australian series 'The Secret Life Of Us'. Actor Miranda lives with boyfriend Richie a fellow actor and their scaffolder friend Will. Gabrielle lives with boyfriend Jason a lawyer whose morals unfortunately do not extend to his personal life. Happy go lucky Kelly lives with beautiful but insecure doctor Alex and would-be-author Evan whose philosophy on life is You never know what'll happen next - or who it will happen with. All you can do is hope it turns out ok - and that you remember most of it.
The Secret Life of Us follows eight twentysomethings sharing three apartments in a Melbourne residential block, and may well be Channel 4's best-kept secret. Buried in a mid-week late-night slot the show has nevertheless developed a cult following as an antipodean answer to This Life, though one mercifully free of amateurish shaky photography. This is actually a good-looking soap spiced with post-watershed language, sex, nudity and a refreshing dose of humour--think Sex and the City meets Coupling, or Dawson's Creek goes to The Book Group. The show takes a while to get going, introducing too many characters too quickly in disorientating fashion, but becomes engrossing entertainment filled with realistically young, aimless and confused, if not very likeable characters. Central to the show is Alex (Claudia Karvan, soon to become much more famous in Star Wars: Episode III) giving a strong performance as an emotional insecure doctor who sets things rolling by having a fling with her best friend's boyfriend. Samuel Johnson meanwhile is the highly sexed struggling novelist whose work in progress, the titular Secret Life of Us offers commentary on the ever more tangled web of romance, deception and friendship. It's Australian drama for those who have outgrown Melbourne's Neighbours. On the DVD: The Secret Life of Us comes to DVD in an anamorphically enhanced 16:9 transfer which looks fine, showing just a little graininess in the darker scenes. The sound is Dolby Prologic and is more than adequate given the small-scale, intimate nature of the production. There are optional subtitles. --Gary S Dalkin
Two crazy modern-day outlaws, searching for adventure and fortune set out on a wild chase through the Amazonian forest.
A morally dubious duo feature in this hilarious escapade as they fall out with a mob who run a harbour complex. They resort to crime and plan a supermarket robbery which not surprisingly goes haywire.
They Call Me Trinity (Dir. Enzo Barboni Clucher 1971): A spoof of 'The Magnificent Seven' where a drifter rides into town where his brother is impersonating the local sherriff... Trinity Is Still My Name (Dir. Enzo Barboni Clucher 1972): Trinity and his brother set out to fulfill the promise they made to their dying father to become successful bandits... My Name Is Nobody (Dir. Tonino Valerii 1973): One of the biggest hits of Sergio Leone's career 'My Name Is Nobody' brings together two Western icons: Henry Fonda and 70s Italian superstar Terence Hill. Fonda plays ageing gunslinger Jack Beauregard and nobody is faster than Beauregard - until he meets a man called Nobody (Hill) who has been hired to kill him. However Beauregard was Nobody's childhood hero and the wily young gun starts planning a way that Jack can go down in the history books. Directed by Leone's former assistant director Tonino Valerii with Leone himself taking charge for certain sequences 'My Name Is Nobody' takes an ironic and often comic look at many Spaghetti Western conventions and features one of Ennio Morricone's most delightful playful scores.
After years of international crime experience Bud Spencer is back in action battling crooks in this hilarious parody of all cops and robber films. Elaborate action stunts and nonsensical humor is the order of the day as Spencer is assigned the task of finding and arresting cat burglar Tomas Milian. When Tony Roma (Milian) seduces and rips-off a senator's wife Lieutenant Parker (Spencer) is sent to track him down. While escaping from the cops and then escaping from a bedroom Roma en
While their Ma (Ruth Buzzi) frets about a Christmas family reunion estranged bounty-hunter brothers Travis (Terence Hill) and Moses (Bud Spencer) sniff around the idea of re-teaming. Whereas Travis risks his life freeing desperadoes like Sam Stone from the hangman's noose to insure their gratitude as a future annuity Moses divides his time between raising a large clan and rounding up outlaw gangs. Mistrusting his goof-off brother Moses is too tempted by a record-breaking reward not to accept Travis's assistance in tracking the very same Sam Stone. The Fight Before Christmas is the last pairing of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer who appeared in many films together including They Call Me Trinity Trinity Is Still My Name Boot Hill Odds And Evens and Miami Supercops.
Set in World War II on an island the irrepressible two are looking for treasure. They have to deal with natives slayers and a trigger happy Japanese soldier before they can begin their search. Total family comedy!

Banana Joe (Bud Spencer) is delightfully free of the ravages of intelligence and lives blissfully in a tropical village in Africa which is untainted by hard-nosed corporations corruption drugs gangs or other ills of modern society. Quite willing to comply with this seemingly simple formailty he treks off to the big city to gain this importa
